⚖️ Expert Verdict

This is a choice between a professional studio tool and a portable party printer. The Selphy CP1500 uses dye-sublimation, which has a very predictable cost-per-print—you buy a pack of 108 sheets and you know exactly what each photo costs. The PIXMA Pro-200 is an ink-hungry beast that can produce massive A3+ prints. If you just want 4x6 holiday snaps, the Selphy is the undisputed budget winner. It’s cheaper to buy, cheaper to run, and the prints are smudge-proof. Keep the Pro-200 for when you’re ready to sell your art; for everything else, the Selphy is the smarter spend.

What Owners Are Saying?

Canon SELPHY CP1500

Lucy G.
"Brilliant for printing family snapshots at home. The dye-sublimation technology is a game-changer because the photos come out dry and smudge-proof immediately. Far superior to standard inkjet prints which always seem to fade or smear. Proper archive quality for a few quid."

Mark
"Sorted for 4x6 prints but the app is a bit of a faff sometimes. The portability is a massive win, took it to a wedding and everyone loved the instant results."

Canon PIXMA PRO-200

Alice K.
"Switched from a lab to this and haven't looked back. The color accuracy on glossy paper is stunning for an 8-ink dye system. It handles panoramic prints up to nearly a meter, which is a strategic win for my portfolio. Very sorted."
