⚖️ Expert Verdict

This is a contest between high-style design and high-utility function. The HP Envy 6020e is perhaps the best-looking printer on the market, with its low profile and glowing status lights. It’s perfect for a living room where you don't want a 'clunky' office machine. However, if you actually need to scan a 10-page report, the Envy will make you do it one by one, while the Brother MFC-J1010DW's ADF will handle it in seconds. The Brother also offers a physical screen for settings, whereas the HP relies almost entirely on your phone. For the design-conscious, the HP is the winner, but for the productivity-conscious, the Brother J1010DW is the far better tool.

What Owners Are Saying?

HP Envy 6020e

Lucy
"Absolute beauty. Looks proper in my lounge."

Tom S.
"The HP Smart app is a bit of a faff to set up on a 5GHz network if I'm honest. Once I finally got the Wi-Fi handshake sorted it’s been decent for the kids' school work, but the initial setup nearly did my head in. Print quality is fine, nothing special but it does the job for the price."

Brother MFC-J1010DW

Toby
"Smallest footprint I could find with a proper ADF. Perfect for my studio where desk space is right tight. Sorted."

Florence
"Frugal choice for high-res scanning. Much more reliable than the HP stuff I used to have."

Arthur B.
"Reliable as anything."
