A successor to the 2700 series, the HP DeskJet 2810e doesn't change much of the formula: it’s still a budget-focused machine designed to get you into the HP Instant Ink ecosystem. Compared to the Brother MFC-J1010DW, it feels significantly underpowered. The Brother offers a 20-sheet ADF, allowing you to walk away while it scans, whereas the HP requires manual feeding for every single page. Furthermore, the Brother’s ability to print on both sides of the paper automatically (duplex) saves money and trees. The HP 2810e is a fine 'student' printer, but for a home office or a busy household, the Brother J1010DW is the vastly superior choice.
