⚖️ Expert Verdict
This is a comparison between a modern, enclosed speedster and a classic, open-frame workhorse. The Bambu Lab P1S offers a much larger build volume, faster print speeds, and an enclosed chamber that allows for a much wider range of materials. The Prusa Mini+ is much smaller and uses a cantilever design that is highly reliable but lacks the speed and versatility of the P1S. While the Prusa Mini+ is legendary for its ease of repair and fantastic community support, it feels like a tool from a previous generation compared to the P1S. The P1S also offers the AMS for multi-colour printing, whereas the Mini+ is strictly single-material unless you use third-party hacks. The P1S's enclosure also means it is quieter and safer to use for materials that emit fumes. If you have a very small desk and only print PLA, the Prusa Mini+ is a charming and reliable choice. However, for almost any other user, the P1S provides far more value, speed, and growth potential for a relatively small price difference. The P1S is the clear winner for modern making.
